(六甲ミーツアート / 兵庫県六甲山 / 2018) アルミ・鉄・ベアリング・チス・六甲山の御影石など
瀬戸内海を見下ろす六甲山は、海から近いにも関わらず標高が1000m近くある。特徴的な地形は激しい気象の変 化をもたらし、「六甲おろし」で知られるような強い風をもたらす風の名所だ。およそ3ヶ月ある展示期間、この 六甲の風を利用して六甲山麓の御影地区がルーツである「御影石」に風の痕跡を残す試みを行う。
作品には風を受ける大きな筒が3本あり、その中にはタービンが入っている。強風でタービンが周り、その動き を利用してチスが上下に動き、御影石を叩く。尾翼のような翼は御影石の向きを変え、風向きによって叩かれる場 所が変わる。3ヶ月の風の通った跡が石に刻まれていく。 目に見えない風の痕跡は、季節の変化を通じてどのように石に刻まれるのだろうか。数万年の月日を経て生まれ た六甲山の御影石に、今、この瞬間に生まれる六甲山の風の痕跡を記す。
Traces of the Wind - Mount Rokko

Mount Rokko, overlooking the Seto Inland Sea, stands nearly 1,000 meters above sea level, despite being close to the sea. Its unique terrain brings about dramatic weather changes, making it famous for the strong winds known as the "Rokko Oroshi." During the three-month exhibition period, I sought to use the winds of Mount Rokko to leave traces of the wind on the "Mikage stone," which has its roots in the Mikage district at the base of the mountain.
The artwork features three large cylinders that catch the wind, each containing a turbine. The strong winds turn the turbines, and their motion moves chisels up and down, striking the Mikage stone. The tail-like wings alter the direction of the stone, causing the area struck by the chisels to shift with the wind’s direction. Over the course of three months, the wind’s traces will be etched into the stone.
How will the invisible traces of the wind be marked on the stone through the changing seasons? In the Mikage stone, born over tens of thousands of years, I seek to leave traces of the winds that are born at this very moment on Mount Rokko.
